Detail of choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
ncRNA name VEGF shRNA
ncRNA Category shRNA
Disease name choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
Species Homo sapiens
Tissues/Cell_line human embryonic retinoblast cell line 911, human RPE cell line ARPE-19
Methods shRNA knockdown, fluorescence microscopy, qPCR, Northern blot, Western blot
Expression pattern associated
Functional description Potent shRNA sequences were identified that were able to silence VEGF in human RPE cells. When expressed from adenovirus backbones, these shRNA constructs silenced VEGF by 94% at a 1:5 molar ratio (VEGF to shRNA) and 64% at a 1:0.05 molar ratio.
PubMed ID 16877421
